Lilac-Girl Poem by Tears In Rain

Lilac-Girl

Rating: 5.0

it seems that I hardly know you
but where you are I want to go too
how can I just let you disappear
to not have you near in future years

like a single star in the Heavens
shines a little light in my direction
a glimpse of something in your eyes
who could have known what reasons why

when fate prefers to leave me all alone
as I crash into my own unknown

I may no longer see you, Lilac-Girl
but I feel you still
and always will

Wondering if we might remember
these moments we spent together
sharing the dreams dreamt in our past
each of us knew they could never last

but still I can't shield you from me
my heart cries out did you love me
clockwork might shift us in different ways
I just moved on and you chose to stay

As then we dove into our different worlds
and I left behind my Lilac-Girl

who showed me who I might really be
if I'd smash my shell
and become free

I absolutely LOVE the nickname you've given your 'lilac girl'. Since lilacs are my favorite flower, I think it is so....sweet how you call her this. Very touching poem. Sincerely, Mary

I love lilacs..them and bleeding hearts are my favorite.. This is a lovely poem, a very heartfelt tribute to someone close to your heart...may your pain lesson, and your joy overwhelm you.... Always, amberlee
