Keep Walking Poem by Edward Veilleux

Keep Walking

Let me keep walking,
I will not stop for what I've done,
Indeed that man I killed,
But I survive so I have won.

Trouble yourself no more,
It's in the past,
Don't look back,
I am free of that demon at last.

He deserved it,
At the time it felt right,
who am I to decide?
Now left without day to counter my nights.

I walk on still and he does not,
But what price have I paid?
Who knew my guilty conscience,
Would make life unworth living today?
