Keep Your Smile Poem by Mohabeer Beeharry

Keep Your Smile

Rating: 5.0

Says the old man
Look at the sea, it is never at rest,
It goes down, depressed.

It goes up and high, violent
Destructive, a killer.
It rushes, it crashes, it destroys,
Unconcerned.

The story of my life is written on those waves.
Now and then I watch them foaming,
And wondered whether I would ever return home,
My open skiff, a frail and battered piece of flotsam.

No one who lives on those waves
knows if the sun will ever rise for him again.
On those billows, many a time I saw the stare of death,
Stark and ruthless, seemed to say time's up.

I smiled back and said, as long as there is faith in my heart
And my mindstrong and steady, I will pass you by,
I will see the sun rise
And my flowers bloom!

I lead my boat back home to the shore,
faith is my strength,
There is somewhere someone stronger than death.

The skiff is this frail frame,
And the tumultuous ocean life, son.
Mind and faith your way
And your strength.
Have faith, the sun will surely rise tomorrow!

faith is my strength, There is somewhere someone stronger than death. ....inner faith is the real fact of life...it makes self confidence where life finds its original motions
