Keepin' Score Poem by Edwina Reizer

Keepin' Score

You loved me first.
I loved you last.
But what does it matter
the die's been cast?

There's no turning back now.
It can't be done.
It all caught up to us
like a blazing sun.

It shines like a crystal.
It sparkles like a gem.
No apologies needed,
there's nothing to condemn.

Let's see where it takes us
and hope for the best.
'Cause everything about this
is one big test.

I can pass with flying colors.
But what about you?
If you should fail babe
what will I do?
