Kharbozeh Gorgab Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Kharbozeh Gorgab

Kharbozeh Gorgab

In pocket have no knife, as it was
No kannas with Kaj-Bill, as it was
No melon from Gorgab, as it was
Things have changed, not as was.

Esfahan, which was named Sepahan
Meant a base; was so called.
Armed forces of Goodarz gathered there
Lashgargah of Sistan was Rostam’s.
Two leaders would unite
Then against the Touran they had fight.

Mix the Myths, History and make up stories
Preserve the culture and amuse, how lovely.

But in life, as child, five or six, I saw things
Man in rag had a bag of rubber
He stopped at each house, delved in deep
His shovel into wells under the toilets.
His shovel like ladle; he pulled out defecate…

Curious, as cats are, I followed
He, Kannas, took content to Gogab
Used as soil and grew best melon.

Things have changed, not as was.
No melon from Gorgab, as it was
No kannas with Kaj-Bill, as it was
In pocket have no knife, as it was.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
World keeps changing. Esfahan was once the city of Iranian forces; it became the capital and one of the most advanced in everything, including agriculture which was totally natural. Kannas was the man who gathered the defecate and used it as fertilizer. And I feel it my duty to record the past before it is totally forgotten.
