Kihci Manito Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Kihci Manito

Kihci Manito

Miss the seas and oceans
Where are my adventures?
Why am I forced to cave?

Want to go somewhere where
Next step can mean death.

Radio, government
Advisers and doctors,
Am tired of cheap life,
Want to kill the anchor
That repeats status
Of hardship in US
And Iran and Europe…!

Looking at the nurses
Wearing mask, and gears
Thickens walls of my jail.

Am tired of threats,
Am tired of dread,
Am tired of fear,
Want to hug freedom
And follow the rivers
To trails of Big bear.

Am in search of desert
Want to go, stretch
My body, head and neck
With the arms to the sides
As is done with Peace Pipe
Of prairies' friends…

Where are east, west and south?
Where are North, Earth, Sky?

Want smudge, tobacco
With spark of fire
To inhale the smoke
And add up to kindness,
That advised "Spirits."
