Killed By Death Poem by Rachel Brewer

Killed By Death

Death is such a powerful thing,
The crossing of one place to another.
It is this, that killed me.

I couldn’t bear watching those I love die,
Because they did all too often.
I was sure I would be the last to go.

I wasn’t going to let that happen, no.
As they died, so did I,
My life slipped further and further away.

I had no choice but to join them myself,
I mean, what’s the point of me being here,
If they aren’t?

So I was killed by death.
And now I get to be with them,
And we are forever, until the end of time.
