Kind King Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Kind King

Rating: 5.0

People flocked from neighborhood
To witness the king taking lavish food
The festival was organized once in a year
The people had heard many stories in ear

The glass panes were erected around
The precious ornaments around body were found
The people had audience of their beloved king
The people may chant in his praise and sing

One poor boy had come from interior part
Even though he had nothing but looked smart
He wished to test the royal food
Hen only felt thrilled and very good

At an appointed hour, king took out first bite
The boy too had strong wish to ignite
He could smell the fragrance
The king saw boy and had little glimpse

He thought of poor people
Who had limited ways to struggle?
“What will they be doing to fill belly”?
He a now that his show was in fact silly

He stooped at first bite
Now he felt he was not right
He took full plate of lavish food
Offered entire lot for good

It was good gesture
On part of king to assure
That he was not only kind
But good at heart and mild
