Kish 1 Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Kish 1

Rating: 5.0

Kish 1

For times
-have been crawling
-as did the worms in the water
-in the deserts of Baluchistan where
-huts were made of branches of palm trees
-and the dates were brought squashed
-and the clay bowl had yogurt of camels

In times
-I become chameleon looking at the sun
-as did the lizard by that lake
-there, the girl dressed in cheap colourful
-happy-looking-textiles; Indian, Bangladeshi
-vanished with her clay vase and magical
-as she had come from the hut

I crawl and crawl and crawl
-as does a fallen cockroach
-shocked from the sudden light
-or from an abrupt fall
-from the opening of a door, unexpected
-on the inner side of which has made a home

"I must, must, must…"

I tell me but never move
-have not taken a step forward

Stuck and glued I crawl
-as did the rats on the glued pulp paper
-in my company in Dubai

"You must, must, must…"

I hear the voice
-a visionary from heavens
-Jehovah? A Prophet?
-John the Baptist?

Who?
What?
Why?

Stuck
Glued
I crawl

"Write novel;
-autobiography,
-or make movie…"

Tied to the bars
-I am
-shackled
-handcuffed
-blindfolded

I feel as if I am back in time
-I face the Iraqis in Ahwaz
-like them blindfolded; I face the wall
-in Evin and Bandar Abbas
-I recall being in Dubai's Moraqqabat

What if I had not given them water?
What if I had said yes to the requests?
What if the Iraqi pilot had not spared me?
What if I had fallen for extremism of:
"Enemy…enemy…enemy…"
What if I had been like Bush:
"With us or against us! "?

Papers are filled with news against Putin
(Just because Washington wants it so
NSA, PENTAGO, CIA, FBI to
-actualize the devilish plans!)

Kish 1
-was a fishing ship
-in Persian Gulf
-Iranian government's property
-a witness to many corruptions
-in its life

Must find her and listen to her story…
