Kisumu City Poem by Charles Murage

Kisumu City

as a father looks on fairing of children the four,
three sons and a daughter

first son, Aero come and go
overcoming the hurricane of winds
the days and nights of clouds,
the world on his palm.

second son, Road, wheels on hands,
four on tarmac come and go
having enjoyed the fruits of
lake Victoria-tilapia and mudfish.

third son, Francolin bird, (Ngware) , of two wheels
burst from all corners of the city,
persevere hot environment,
as he carry people in and out,
of city to estates

a daughter as waves,
with the strength of winds,
would come cool, humming
with the news from neighboring
countries
