Kittens Poem by Robert Edgar Burns

Kittens

I have a little kitty,
That came to live with me.
I got to name her Misty,
And she’s cute as she can be.

Misty is so fluffy,
And can roll up in a ball.
She hops and jumps and scratches,
And can climb on things real tall.

She keeps herself clean
By licking her paws.
She then licks her legs and
Her tummy and claws.

Other cats in my neighborhood
Often come up to my door.
And meow to see my Misty,
Then meow a whole lot more.

I love my sweet little kitty,
And I know that she loves me.
She loves to be petted,
And told that she’s pretty.

I wrote this poem
While only an 8 year old boy.
But the memory of Misty,
Still brings to me joy.
