Labels Poem by Robert Edgar Burns

Labels

I wasn't born just yesterday
And I'm certainly not a fool.
But the middle of an Oreo cookie
Is where we first go to.

How many licks did you decide
To get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop?
Since I have no teeth left,
It takes more licks, slobber and slop.

Since Frosted Flakes are "GREAAT"
Are Corn Flakes just So So?
These are things I worry about
And I really want to know.

I like the taste of Peter Pan
Although sometimes I use Jiff.
Whenever you open either jar
You still get the peanut whiff!

Lays potato chips really lay,
So their advertising is all true.
Except for the amount of grease in one
That you get all over you.

Political rhetoric and platitudes,
Should somehow be against the law.
Those are the types of labels
That really get under my craw!
