I bet you called her stingy
Your mom, I bet when you were younger
You thought she had all the money
In the world
But pretended to be penniless
All the time
I bet you know better now
You've tasted life for yourself
Feasted on them hardships
Gulped down these desert ladder climbs
You know how it's like to keep going
And yet be stagnant
You know of the tears
Sitting at the table
Trying to make ends meet
With no success
I bet you too have imagined a better life
But haven't gotten around
To making it a reality
You know now that life is hard
Good thing is,
You also know that you should keep going
