La Renaissance Poem by Scott J. Shepard

La Renaissance

It wasn't just the way she wore the lip stick
Smacked and ready for the community
Pentecost
Or the nickels and dimes for the chauffeur
Clanking to itch the community
Basket
It was like a cruel joke ready for travel
And her stockings were the
Monopoly cartel
The men would look like they were ready
For lotto's and the women haloed
Like Saint Margret and Jeanne De Arch
Those barbaric caged animals
Not even ready for sermon
Still on the hills of Orleans
