Leaving The Fortress Poem by Scott J. Shepard

Leaving The Fortress

Growth isn't invisible
In this crazy world, crazy does what crazy wants
And they say I'm crazy for wanting
To be free

My growth isn't invisible
Like the night 30 men invaded my space
Covered their hands over my eyes
And said don't you dare speak a devil's tongue to the wise

I screamed,
Heal the blind, as the tears rolled down
My eyes

My I've grown
Don't you dare cover these eyes of mine
