Last Good-Bye Poem by jenn davis

Last Good-Bye

Band-Aids don’t cover up scars,
A smile can only hide tears for so long,
Laughter doesn’t always disguise the pain
And yet you live with it every day.
No sign of showing what you’ve become,
And no chances of you coming undone.
Until that one day when you hit the floor.
You just ant take it any more
You’re tired of being told that you are nothing.

They yell and scream at the top of their lungs,
‘You will never become more than what you are,
A sad, worthless excuse for mistakes all over the world,
A sob story of unexpected lives.
So why don’t you go ahead and die.’

You try and tell yourself that they are wrong,
And yet, you know they never are.
You take their advice and try to end this fight.
Tonight, you pray, that you don’t wake up the next day.

Metal to your skin
You can’t believe you’re doing this again.
You may be breathing and your heart still beating
But you’ve never been alive inside.
Tonight’s the night, you end that stupid little fight
So close your eyes and say your last goodbyes…
