Lady Summer Poem by Shahid H Khan

Lady Summer

Rating: 5.0

Lady Summer,
You are a shy bride this year
You give a glimpse and disappear
Throwing tantrums here and there
I waited for you all winter
Braving mounds of snow
Wearing tons of gear
Hoping you would arrive
In full glory and colour
Spreading joy and cheer
But you are seen
Neither here nor there
Playing hide and seek
Like a child and mother.

I beg you, my dear
Just be a good lover
I miss your warmth
Take me in your arms
Hug me like a bear!
