Lamentation Poem by Bireswar Halder

Lamentation

My heart starts throbbing and can't speak at all
Only the memories keep tumbling in one after another
Mixed with something sweeter than honey
And something bitter, rough and tough but lovely.

Life is nothing but a battlefield full of odds and dangers
Strong mind with confidence works like a sharpened sword
Pieces of sorrows cut down come like billows
But it's very difficult to win all enmities single handedly.

You are all along my guide, my inspiration - everything
To cross over all hurdles smilingly and to proceed far
You are my spirit to walk in dark  dreadful nights
My heart shrinks but does not permit to let you go.

It's a breach of contract you made to walk together
Without you it's very difficult to breathe in for fighting
Why do you become so selfish to leave me alone
It's wrong, unjustified to throw me into deep ditches.

Oh dear, please wake up, open your eyes like a heroine
Make some fun, pull legs as usual and no more silence
I kneel down on your feet for my last prayer
As I have none to share my unending pains except you.
