Lamenting The Hours Poem by Patti Masterman

Lamenting The Hours

Why do we marry so badly,
And why does time pass so slow-
The shadows in doorways we run from;
The things we reap, never sown?

Were it different, with old friends we'd linger
And talk of things we once knew,
Instead of running wide circles
Lamenting the hours, too few.
