Because the trees are more than green;
Because the almond and the cherry wait
Like bridesmaids at the churchyard gate;
Because black coral branches still are seen
Half hidden by new leaves in field and lane;
Because the towering clouds that crowd
Above the low horizon stand so proud,
Plump and promising to bring more rain
And sun on paths is shedding fitful shade
And warms the mist that lies so damp and chill
Within the valley and across the hill;
Because the bluebells flower in every glade;
This is not summer, but we have to say,
Take heart, for winter's over, it is May.
you have pictured the change over from winter very beautifully here, jancie...i love the scene: almond and cherry wait at the church yard gate *10*
