Lazy Day Poem by Juan Olivarez

Lazy Day

Laying in the pasture,
Chewing on a blade of grass.
I feel mother natures lure,
Away from all that city mess.

Laying on my back just dreaming,
Watching clouds go drifting by.
As they shift, now it's seeming,
I know that face up in the sky.

Grasshoppers leaping high in the air,
All over the pasture, they fly.
Incredible jumps without a care,
The law of gravity they defy.

Golden and red sunset out west,
Brilliant beams flooding the Earth.
A beautiful day to lay and rest,
Makes you happy for the day of your birth.
