Lazy Summer Day Poem by Nancy Chambers

Lazy Summer Day

Sitting in the yard the 1st of July 07
The sweetest place this side of Heaven
A perfect day and the living is easy
75* bright & breezy
Wind chimes are ringing
In a tree a wren is singing
Over the pond a dragonfly in flight
A hummingbird feeding is quite a sight
The first day for Jersey corn
Picked fresh this very morn
Summer is filled with sights and sounds
That won’t be here when cold and snow abounds
This season isn’t here to stay
But should be enjoyed every day
Who needs a vacation with noise and clamor
I’d rather spend time with Nature’s glamour
