Leaving Me Wondering Poem by Mark Money

she sighed then looked at me
there are so many divorces going on
these days she said she shook her head
i noticed she wore no ring but drove a van
she propped her face on the back of her hand
and added i had a number of friends
it's a shame what they had to go through
my advice was passed off like so many bad checks
i was so confused by her comment
that i forgot to ask about her own situation
some will steal your money some will steal your heart
she said i think i heard that in a song once
but didn't explain why she drove that van
she peered through the windshield and sighed again
too far away when she came back to speak
my name is melinda get out she said
she drove away leaving me wondering
