Left Behind- An Accidental Joke Poem by Genice Lorraine De Fabriciano

Left Behind- An Accidental Joke

Let me set the scene for you- - My mother (a woman that's a little paranoid with technology is sitting in her easy chair as my sister is setting up some free apps for movies onto her new HD television)

'Now they will be able to see us' -Mom

'Who cares? ' -Sister

'Then they're going to come get us now' -Mom

'You don't want to be the only one they didn't come get! ' -Sister
'You'll be all by yourself' -Sister

'What if they really do now? ' -Mom

'You'll be all by yourself' -Sister
'Don't you wanna be got? ' -Sister
If they don't come get you...you'll be all by yourself...you'll be left behind! ' -Sister

My moms eyes widened like big saucers

Her mouth dropped open...no words could emerge...

Laughter ensued...LOL! Ha! Ha! Ha! Rolling on the floor laughter
All of us in the room lost it and started cracking up at the thought of 'them'
Coming and getting us- -getting my mom
Like a boogie man in the middle of the night
Laughter teetered between the actual thought of not being 'got' and taken
As laughs tottered the perceived real life fear of being, 'left behind! '
