Let Go Poem by Stephanie Mac

Let Go

Rating: 5.0

Here I am
Dangling on the brink of your fantasy

4 fingers gripping for the life of me

You told me those words
Pretty, wonderful words
Convinced me that I was the best
No other could compare
Saw that I was not in the right
Changes must be made
Painted a vision of a cheery future
Did I want it?

3 fingers remain

I have already turned a page
It's brighter and better than before
But you show me even better options
I fathom the impossible
It comes down to a decision
What will I choose?

2 fingers left

I made the choice
Not suddenly at all
I prayed and thought and prayed
Yet, was it right?

1 finger

I am falling fast, hard, eyes open, wind in my face
However will I land?

And now, many moons later
I have yet to hit the bottom.
