Let Go Poem by Carl Roussell

Let Go

He's back there again
Drinking till he falls, the call
Of his loneliness.
They're chewing away at him.
One feeds the other, drink up.

He's back there again.
Feeling through it all, and all
Know what he has lost
When he had to let you go.
But had had to, you now know.

He knows
His love for you
Was laced with so much pain
For him to go through it again;
Let go.

He's back there again,
An empty place, not a home.
He wouldn't task you,
And he couldn't ask of you
To return his love for you.

You know
His love for you
Is laced with so much pain
From the past to give in again.
Let go.
