Let Me Boast A Little... Poem by Ojeikpo Elijah

Let Me Boast A Little...

Let me boast a little, if you will
For I have tales that'll give you a thrill,
But do not take me for a fool
For I have a clever mind, so cool.

Let Me Boast A Little,
I may not be the wisest or best,
But I have stories that'll put your mind at rest,
So, if you deem me a fool, let it be.

Let Me Boast A Little,
For I'll still share my tales with glee,
For what is life, without a little boast?
Just like a song, without a riposte.

So let me indulge in some fun,
And bask in the spotlight, just for once,
I'll tell you of my adventures bold
And the treasures I've found, untold.

From climbing mountains, to diving deep,
My life is a story worth to keep,
I'll boast about my talents too,
For modesty has no place in this crew.

I can sing, dance, and even write,
My words can take you on a magical flight,
But let me make one thing clear,
My boasting is not out of fear.

For I am comfortable in my skin,
And I'll always let my passions win,
So, if you must, tolerate my boasting,
For in this world, it's only fair toasting.

Let no one take me for a fool.
But if you do, then tolerate me,
So that I may do a little boasting.
And when I'm done, feel free to applaud,
I am awed.
