Let Me Turn Out The Light Poem by Robert Peacock

Let Me Turn Out The Light

Every Day When I Awake
You Are The First Thing That I Think Of
As I Draw The Day's First Breath
I'm Still Dreaming Of Your Sweet Love

As My Eyes Begin To Clear
They Crave But One Thing
Another Chance To See Your Beauty
That The New Day Will Bring

When I Finally See You
And Find You're Happy And Well
I Know My World Is Right Again
Because In My Heart You Dwell

You Are The Light Of My Life
And Lift Me Through Each Day
I Will Never Forsake You For Another
Whether Near Or Far Away

Rest Assured My Heart Will Always
Be A Safe Harbor For Your Love
I'd Die Before I Hurt You
You've Turned A Wolf Into A Dove

When Evening Finally Comes
It's My Favorite Time Of All
We Spend Our Nights Together
Where I'm Yours To Enthrall

Then Your Enchantment Ends Again
When We Must Say Goodnight
Sleep With The Angels My Lover
Let Me Turn Out The Light
