The winter was filled with snow
The ice storms hit us hard
Everything was covered up
With a glace of ice out in the yard
The poor little birds came in search
Of food they hoped to find somewhere
They couldn’t pull worms from the ground
So with crumbs and seeds we shared
But now the snow has begun to melt
The ice is all gone as well
We’re waiting for the signs
Of tiny buds just waiting to swell
Crocus in their lavender coats
Yellow heads of the Daffodil
Many sweet colors popping up
Of Primroses – oh, I want my fill!
Yes sir, I can smell all of them now
Delicious fragrances that they send
Oh please let the weather change
And let the spring begin!

My favourite time of year, the snow and ice kill off all the nasties and everything bursts into life so new and clean. I remember the snow well. a lovely reminder. Thank you. Regards Ann.
