Let The Baby Stay Alone Poem by AVIJIT MONDAL

Let The Baby Stay Alone

Let the baby stay alone
For in womb it got presage of the bitter solitude of the world.
It's just crossed the border of a dark world
Did it tell you to clamour?
No, just when it is brooding upon the imminent calamities,
You're trying your best to make him habituated
To the chaos created by you.
You hone its bendable brain against the well improvised mundane studies
To make it the receptacle of some negative ideas ‑ incredulity, hatred, anger
Cause the child is immaculate in born.
Good effort indeed unconsciously!
That the child could at least live amongst you, the bellicose animals.
Even when the child is grown up
He dares not to blame you
But silently runs after his innate philosophy.

In the same way I'm grateful to you,
No doubt I'm also not immaculate,
But somehow able to live on this earth.
