'Lethargy And Pestilence' Poem by Michael Patrick Hunt

'Lethargy And Pestilence'

Rating: 5.0

Echoes of the foreign trigger
Cascade through the children's ears
And the scholars' tongues
Content in their indoctrination
They spoke of pestilence
Contagious decadence
Lethargy and feeble minds
Infected with delusions
Dissonant voices whispered to me
They sang a lullaby of fire
A requiem for capitulation
Scorching with antipathy
As they watch the nations fall

Thank you so much! I try to choose words that I think might convey a different meaning to each reader. I really appreciate your kindness.
