Letter To My Younger Self! Poem by Sumita Jetley

Letter To My Younger Self!

Rating: 5.0

In the city lights where dreams unfold,
A woman named Meera, strong and bold.
With saree draped, tea in hand, she stands,
On a balcony of plants, above Mumbai's lands.

She moves through life, a rhythm, a beat,
High-rise offices and city streets.
But beneath the glitter, a heart that yearns,
For moments of quiet, for lessons she learns.

"Call your parents, " her mind gently says,
"They're growing older, and so are the days."
She puts down her phone, feels time slip away,
And promises herself to call them today.

In the rush of mornings, she finds her peace,
Sips her chai, lets her thoughts release.
The real luxuries aren't cars or gold,
But slow mornings, and stories told.

She scrolls through feeds of perfect lives,
But she knows the truth behind the lies.
"Comparison steals joy, " she reminds her soul,
It's her own journey she needs to control.

A solo trip, a sunset view,
In Kerala's hills, her heart feels new.
No need for likes or pictures to show,
The beauty is hers, and hers to know.

At work, she fights for what she's worth,
With courage she stands, with growing mirth.
"You get what you ask for, not what you deserve, "
She finds her power, her voice, her nerve.

But life has ways of teaching more,
A call of loss she can't ignore.
A friend is gone, the pain is real,
But she chooses how to heal.

She plants seeds in memory, she gives back with grace,
Turns grief into light, finds her own space.
It's not the easy path, but it's her own,
And through each step, her strength has grown.

Now, Meera knows what matters most,
Not the titles or parties she used to boast.
But the art she paints, the friends she keeps,
The quiet mornings, the nights she sleeps.

As the sun sets over Mumbai's glow,
She writes a note to the self she used to know:
"Slow down, breathe, and let life be,
Riches aren't money, but moments like these."

With tea in hand, and a peaceful sigh,
She watches the city, lets time pass by.
No longer chasing, she stands in the light,
Living her story, one sip, one night.
