Levels Of Heartbreak Poem by Nancy Nalbandian

Levels Of Heartbreak

Alas! Life is a theater
And we long to be the characters,
Nonchalantly play the assigned roles,
Succumbing to what is offered.
An unprecedented feeling has overtaken
And, I am shattered between my mind's eye
And what my eyes actually see.
My heart is no longer chaperoned
That, I can clearly see.
Albeit! My protagonist is a dandy
Yet my heart thirsts him unconditionally
He secludes his feelings and gets numb-Like a stone-pretends to alleviate
The pain that I once caused.
My love! Do not get dispatched
And don't let this love slumber on,
Because it is what bestowing me
With a sense of guilt.
Adieu my love, I will forever stay in your pretentious heart.

WOW! You put, within words, what so few wish to admit out loud. I applaud your poem. Great line about your heart no longer being chaperoned!
