Lewd And Sensuous Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Lewd And Sensuous

The song was lewd and
Sensuous
Under the Egyptian skies
It turned
As the cobra turns:
Walked with the mists
Of magic on the Nile
Troubadour of the Nile
Fishes with mouth open
A Sphinx in the distant
Silhouette of night
And the desert cold
And still
As the persistence of the
Venetian violin
The lewd sensuous song
Plays and turns cobra-like
Under the Egyptian skies
By the Nile
In the cold desert.
