Liar Poem by Elannia Lake

Liar

Liar’s distortion, sick and growing
Growing larger and darker
Darker than it began
Began white, or did it?
It was black from the beginning

Beginning so small
Small it seemed
Seemed not to matter at all
All it was
Was a little lie

Lie back and watch
Watch that little twist
Twist of the truth grow
Grow and infect
Infect lives

Lives of those around you
You, who defiled
Defiled their lives with deception
Deception eventually leads
Leads everyone back to you

You tried to cover
Cover your mistakes
Mistakes lead to more mistakes and create
Create a trail
Trail leading to the liar

The twist of metaphors within the poem really magnify the subject. Awesome composition.
