Lies And Deception Poem by K J

Lies And Deception

I’m numb inside, oh so cold.
Drowning here where I go.
My veins are ice-
or so I’m told.
Is this the price for my soul?

Look at me-
you think you know my every need,
but I never show you the real me.
You only see what you want me to be.

My bitter heart sees past your lies.
It knows it’s I who you despise.
Don’t torture me with your pretty face.
You’re unwanted here-
it’s out of place.

Leave me like those in the past.
I care no more-
it will never last.
I know this while I gaze in your eyes.
Still, you taunt me with your lies.
