It is like a time bomb,
It has a timer & waiting to happen.
Someday its going to stop,
With the time and pain gone, I will learn the lesson.
People work hard, in hopes to be remembered,
Doing something unusual to leave a mark.
Some play it safe, some play with danger,
But nothing will matter because in the end it will be dark.
I wonder what it will be like in afterlife,
If there is an afterlife or it'll be darkness & silence.
Leaving all your loved ones behind, they weep & cry,
After the darkness, waiting for something to happen with patience.
What is good? A long uneventful life,
Or a short life full of love?
What is more important? the amount of time,
Or life full of happiness & joy?
The time you get to love & to be loved,
Or a lifetime full of fame & pride?
A worthless alone lifetime after you get cured,
Or a worth moment of joy, happiness & a smile wide
A nice piece on life, well articulated and nicely penned. As for the questions, I can only say that all we do is vanity upon vanity. We shall come to see what we must see when we keep our ultimate date with death. A nice poem indeed. Thanks for sharing and do keep it up. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
