Life Poem by Mou Mukherjee Das

A pregnant pause,
A terrifying pain,
A stagnant time,
A faint ray of hope,
A moment's nothingness-
Patiently waiting with bated breath,
An intuitive feeling,
An emotional turmoil,
And then-
All was over.
All fell silent.

That's how Life unraveled
Its unfathomless mystery
Through the eternal pangs of death.

From the abyss of darkness-
To the horizons of light.
From the vast nothingness-
To the domains of knowledge.
From the twisting annals of fate
From the curse of ignorance,
From unlearning to learning,
From innocence to wisdom-
Life moves on-
Unfurling its leaves,
With its myriad lessons.

Lessons of dilemma and duality-
Of right and wrong,
Of truth and falsehood.
And strangely enough,
All co-existing peacefully
Sharing their space.

That's how Life unraveled
Its unfathomless mystery.
