Life Poem by Tui Goodwin

Life

Rating: 4.0

As a cold wind eats at my skin
I feel the ice cold hail sting me like pins
But I most keep going, no turning back
Or the fear will come upon me alone on this track

I must keep my head up strong
As a forge my mark on this earth, I walk along
I don’t know where I’m going, only where I’ve been
I can’t turn back now for I wish to forget the things that I have seen

Life’s journey is hard, and never easy
So I must not let the fear get me
I have to fight my way in this place
I must run hard and win life’s race.

Although it is unclear
I will one day draw the curtains on life and peer,
I shall see who I have become
And I will rejoice in the new song I have sung.
