Life Always Goes On Poem by Randy McClave

Life Always Goes On

I started on this road of life
I was all alone without a girlfriend or a wife,
Then I started my great journey
As if life was a competition or a tourney.
I started this journey all alone
Many times I tripped and fell and sometimes thrown,
But, I stayed upon this never ending road
And many adventures and memories I sowed.
God inspired me and gave me the gift to write
Which I did both day and night,
He is my greatest and my truest inspiration
He was the one who caused creation.
I always took the good with the bad
And I always smiled when I was hurt and sad,
I forgave, but I had never forgot
And I had dreamed, and so I still sought.
I found a job which I truly enjoyed
Work or adventure I never once did avoid,
I earned money to buy many wonderful things
Music, a house, cars, a boat and watches and rings.
Then on the road I found myself a spouse
Then I owed a home and not a house,
And then I was given a beautiful wonderful son
Then my road of life had truly just begun.
I traveled the world both near and far
By boat and by train and by hiking and by car,
And my mind and my soul continually grew
As I always learned and experienced something new.
Death will come and life will grow
And from that experience we will all know,
But, on that road we will all continue going
To see what life is showing.
People change and things always go wrong
And someone will always be writing a ballad or a folk song,
And whether it be in the sunshine or in the dawn
We must all remember, that life always goes on.
