Life And Death Poem by Kiri Xiong

Life And Death

Life or death, if not one for the other
Question it and soon you'll begin to wonder
The phrases you noise or the sounds you hear
The sights you vision or the feelings you bear
They're all so real and still surreal
Why am I here if I am only to heal?
What is good if that is bad?
Do morals exist? Why does this make me so mad?
Who are these people I meet as I go?
If they're only to leave and give me a toll
Money is an illusion but they write it on my tab
They tell me to drink whether I'm happy or sad
Our natural colors are blue and green
But purple and red could be so mean
Girls and boys are two different parts
Humans are one but not truly at heart
One can have it all and the other one, none
Some are told to walk and others to run
What is this madness; what is it for?
My mother, my father, their hardships I bore
Is this the life that I've been given
Told to do good and be forgiven
This night, awake, I decide to lie
Thinking about the day when I say goodbye
