Life And Its Lessons Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

Life And Its Lessons

I watched a mother duck
Care for her little young,
Who rode there on her back
As she swam along.

Such love, I then marveled.
So gentle and so pure.
Her young with glee traveled
On her back, safe... secure.

Would all human mothers do
What this avian mother does?
Give her care all life through-
Lay down all that she has?

Some mothers, they do not,
And that is so heartbreaking.
For children are a fragile lot,
They need all the protecting.

From creatures Man learns well,
Of love and care, compassion.
From watching them we can tell,
They teach us life...... and its lessons.
