Life Does Poem by Francis Duggan

Life Does

Rating: 2.5

The longest lived life in time not a long span
On average a few years more for a woman than it is for a man
But the longer you live the sooner you will die
A mere fact of life and fact never lie
The great gift of youth with us it did not last
On looking back the Seasons we wonder why time went so fast
The seconds of our lives keep ticking away
And at the stroke of midnight the past will be today
Time on the body eventually does show
The great athletes of the past eventually walking slow
The years do go quickly beyond our lives prime
In memory we only can go back in time
The future ahead and the past it has gone
And we live in the now and life does go on.
