Life Goes On In All Its Endless Sadness Poem by Shalom Freedman

Life Goes On In All Its Endless Sadness

Life goes on in all its endless sadness
Another friend has died
I try to keep my voice strong
When I tell the news
But inside the soul is breaking
Life will go on without each and every one of us
Me also of course
But still these losses this loss
One cries out to G-d
"Why does it have to be? "
Another voice says
‘This is the way it is
The way nature is made
The way the world works
Don't ask stupid naïve questions.
Grief too is real and part of the world
Just get along doing the best you can
Until you can't.'
