Life In The Drain - Poem by Hannah Everette

There was a
hair
in
my shower.

There was a
HAIR
/in/
MY shower.

A hair unlike the others:
the short brown
wiry brown
curly brown
long brown
all brown
hairs that live in there

washed clean of me.

There was a
hair
in
my shower
and it was

GREY.

I swear, someone's been in
there
who was not me,
and I am

FREAKED OUT

(and so is
my
body) .

Topic(s) of this poem: aging, body
