Life Is About Ballet Dancing In The Candle Light Poem by Dr Shamim Ali

Life Is About Ballet Dancing In The Candle Light

You raise your arms high
You twirl and twist on your toes
You slowly turn it about
You dance for contentment and pleasure till the candle blows out
You Dip it under and pull it back up
A slow beat with harmonizing violins
You can feel the rhythm all the time
Calm music in the background if your ears tolerate
You dance for determination and fortitude till the candle blows out
You lean it back and forth
Into a harmonizing melody
just close your eyes and bend over it
As you enthral memory
You dance for hope and optimism till the candle blows out
The music slows a little
And you draw it closer to your chest
You make the impressive leap into the air
It makes your heart pound with anticipation
You dance for laughter and applause till the candle blows out
You spring off the floor
You appear to pause in the air
Floating in the position of the split
It makes you glide along the floor
You dance for purpose and courage till the candle blows out
You dance on feet
You take all pain and suffering
You jump and bow gracefully
Fill your smile with enchantment
You dance for goodness and virtue till the candle blows out
