.life Mocking Art

Welcome to our masquerade
Choose carefully your mask
Most are just hiding here
From questions they can’t ask

This is our Babylon
We hope you feel at home
Explore these cyber corridors
Where the wanton wordy roam

Are you a self obsessive?
Or a holier than thou
We house all types of weirdo's
From the inane to the highbrow

If you are a needy popular
You can beg and plead for praise
Message all and sundry
To while away your days

We have the delusional grinding axes
Anaesthetists posting sleep
The sometime suicidal
Who about their woes they weep

With one eye on the crown
Lurk the bitter ladies in waiting
They care not for poetry
It’s all about their rating

Have you seen our inner sanctum
Where the pretentious like to preach
Stroking their massive egos
While for smug kudos they beseech

Some fall foul of the critic
He’s impotent venting his rage
His poison pen flows freely
Tainting the words on the page

There is real talent
Exceptions to these rules
They are my reason for being here
Why I suffer all you poetic fools
