.mercy

Rating: 5.0

Suffer in silence
It’s what Jesus expects
Waste away slowly
As a mark of respect
You talk much of mercy
But how can this be
When you demand that they suffer
Indefinitely
When death wont come quickly
The pain drags on
The light maybe working
But the spark is gone
There are signs of life
But this is not living
Surely a God of love
Would be more forgiving
Memories are tainted
Diminishing the way they were
Pictures of a lingering death
Nightmares to reoccur
Tormented in limbo
A prisoner only partially there
Can this really be the will of your God
The cross that they must bear
