Life On The Edge Poem by Sophia Ong

Life On The Edge

What would you do
If you knew
That your clue
Would be true?

The doctor said, your life is on the line
But you thought you were fine
Well, you made yourself believe.
That you would not leave.

A year ago, you knew
That something is not right
You tried to fight
But the battle is too tight

Would you be happy until your clock struck zero?
Or would you lock yourself away?
Away from the world you once knew.
So you could just easily go.

Don't be selfish,
There are others out there,
who's life is also on the line.
Be happy, cause you got that chance.

You thought you would be leaving, too soon.
You thought you are doomed.
But no! Your loved ones would be by your side.
They would serve as the light in the darkness that's engulfing you.

Your dull world would look colorful again.
Because the end of your life doesn't mean the end of you.
If you shared your life with other people,
You would always be remembered, never to be forgotten.

Those inspiring messages,
Those cherished friendships,
Those treasured memories,
Those good deeds
Those works for God
The legacy you would be leaving behind, will always be the most important.

Death to most people, is their biggest fear.
You see, everything is according to God's plan.
Don't be afraid, just have Faith in Him.
Live your life not the way you want, But in the way God wants.

You only live once, it's true
But that doesn't mean that you should
Do everything you want,
Even if it's wrong.

Very rightly said- you only live once. But that does not entitle you to do whatever you like even if it was wrong. The narrative has a great message for whole mankind. I quote: The legacy you would be leaving behind, will always be the most important.
