Life's Futility Poem by Raymond Farrell

Life's Futility

We are all
in this boat
together baling water
like mad fiends
every waking hour
and some even
go on doing so
in their dreams
but
for all our efforts
there's that hole
in the boat
through which life
ebbs away
day by day
until one day
we just quit baling
and it's finally over.
